Up for sale is an exceptionally rare 1945 Gretsch Synchromatic 300 acoustic archtop , finished in beautiful vintage Sunburst and featuring the spectacular Art Deco "Light Bulb" headstock design.

The Synchromatic 300 was one of Gretsch's high-end professional archtops. Period examples feature a large roughly 17-inch body, 26-inch scale, distinctive Cat's Eye soundholes, elaborate multi-ply binding, and the unmistakable Light Bulb headstock . Production of the professional Synchromatic line was extremely limited around WWII, with some instruments completed and sold after the war. reverb.com

VERY GOOD VINTAGE CONDITION - STRUCTURALLY SOUND

For an approximately 80-year-old archtop , this Gretsch presents in very good vintage condition with gorgeous age and character.

The guitar is reported to be structurally sound , but there is a crack in the top in the area between/around where the bridge sits . According to the current assessment, this crack does not affect the structural integrity of the guitar . It is nevertheless clearly disclosed and should be inspected in the photos.

There are also several areas where the binding is beginning to separate/fall away . Binding deterioration is a known issue on surviving early Synchromatic 300s; other documented examples have required binding regluing or restoration. reverb.com

Throughout the guitar you'll find beautiful vintage finish checking, dents, scratches, scuffs, edge wear, hardware aging, and honest 1940s patina consistent with its age.
